PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE & AFTER

YOUR PEEL TREATMENT FOR BEST RESULTS:

PRE-TREATMENT:

  • One of the risks with dermal filler injection is the unintentional injection into a blood vessel. The chances of this happening are very small, but if it does happen, the complications can be serious and may be permanent. These complications, which have been reported for facial injections, can include vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, or permanent scarring of the skin. Most of these events are irreversible. Tell your specialist immediately if you have changes in your vision, signs of a stroke (including sudden difficulty speaking, numbness or weakness in your face, arms or legs, difficulty walking, face drooping, severe headache, dizziness, or confusion), white appearance of the skin, or unusual pain during or shortly after treatment.

  • The use of this product where skin sores, pimples, rashes, hives, cysts, or infections are present should be postponed, as this may delay healing or make skin problems worse

  • Inform your provider if you are on any type of immune supressing therapies.

  • Inform your provider if you have a history of excessive scarring (thick, hard scars). The safety of this product in patients with a history of excessive scarring has not been studied and may result in additional scars.

  • Inform your provider if you have a history of pigmentation disorders, as use of this product in patients with a history of pigmentation disorders has not been studied and may result in changes in pigmentation.

  • Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising).

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible, for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.

  • This also includes prescription blood thinners such as Plavix, Warfarin (Coumadin), Eliquis, Xarelto, etc (please consult with your prescribing physician in regards to stopping these medications prior to procedure, as some cannot or should not be stopped).

  • Schedule your SkinVive appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation.

  • Results from SkinVive will take approximately 2 weeks to appear.

  • Also, bruising and swelling may be apparent in that time period.

  • Discontinue Retin-A 2 days before and 2 days after treatment.

  • Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore or blemish on on any possibly being treated.

  • Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink before your procedure.

  • This will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.

  • You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Be aware that you may be more sensitive to injections during menstruation.

  • Please arrive to your appointment with a clean face with no make-up.

POST-TREATMENT:

  • Minimize strenuous exercise, exposure to extensive sun or heat, and alcoholic beverages within the first 24 hours following treatment. Exposure to any of these may cause temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the injection site.

  • The most commonly reported side effects were redness, lumps/bumps, swelling, bruising, pain, tenderness, firmness, discoloration and itching. Most side effects will resolve within 7 days. If they persist longer, your physician may choose to treat them with medications, such as antibiotics, steroids, or hyaluronidase.

  • Additionally, there have been reports of inflammation, nodules, unsatisfactory result, loss or lack of improvement, allergic reaction, anxiety, blood vessel blockage, infection, dry skin, increase or decrease in sensation, and abscess.

  • Delayed-onset inflammation near the site of dermal filler injections is one of the known adverse events associated with dermal fillers. As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.

  • Do NOT manipulate the treated area for 4 hours following treatment.

  • Do NOT receive facial, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion before or after SkinVive for at least 3 weeks.

  • Ask your provider if you are not sure about the time frame of certain services.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours.

  • Multiple treatments may be needed to achieve desired results.

  • You are charged for the amount of product used.

  • Therefore, you will be charged for a product used during any touch-up or subsequent appointments.
